Toxics Book Tour: Cosmetics and Children's Products
November 12-15, 2007
Bellingham - Port Townsend - Aberdeen - Seattle
Lead in Lipstick?
Cancer Causing Chemicals in Baby Shampoo?
How Is This Possible?
- Learn about hidden poisons in cosmetics and children's products.
- Hear about the efforts at the state and national level to shift the market to safe non-toxic products.
The Washington Toxics Coalition, along with our partner organizations, are
pleased to sponsor four Washington stops on the national book tour for Not
Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry, by Stacey Malkan. The book delves into the dark side of the beauty
industry and it's impacts on children's health.
Join us for a reading by the author, giveaways of natural products, and conversations about ways we can work together to protect our health by shifting the market to safe, non-toxic products. Local environmental health leaders will discuss similarly disturbing findings in the toy industry, such as lead in children's products.
All events are free and include light snacks.
